How to Get Oil Stains Out of a Sofa

Who doesn't love to enjoy a delicious oily snack, such as a good pizza while relaxing on a sofa and watching their favorite show? But the main problem comes when you drop those oily foods on your sofa. It leaves an oily stain on the sofa. But don't get frustrated just yet, you can easily remove oily stains from your sofa by following these steps-
1. Check the care tags first. According to that, you need to gather your cleaning supplies.
2. Blot the stained area with a clean, dry cloth to remove the oil as much as possible. Then blot the stain again with a clean, damp cloth to remove the remaining oil & loosen any remaining residue.
3. Apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain & work it into the fabric with a clean cloth. Scrub gently to avoid the risk of damaging the fabric.
4. If the stain is still visible, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the stained area, let it sit for a while & then vacuum it up to clean the sofa. You can also use a solvent-based cleaner, but be sure to do a spot test first in a hidden spot.
5. Vacuum the sofa with upholstery attachments in a gentle suction setting to vacuum the remaining baking soda & oil residue.
6. Rinse the area thoroughly with water and blot it dry with a clean cloth. Allow the sofa to air dry completely before using it again.
