The "Kinoles" festival is the main open-air film festival in Russia. It has been held annually since 2016 on the initiative of the "Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of St. Petersburg".
In the center of the festival, there is an open screening of short films created by young directors — students and graduates of cinematographic universities. The program is formed from films — festival hits of recent years with good audience potential.
Film screenings are held in the evening under the open sky on the picturesque shore of the Gulf of Finland in the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg — the beach "Sea Dubki".
In addition to film screenings, the festival hosts creative meetings and master classes for a wide audience from professional filmmakers, as well as an extensive leisure program for spectators and guests of the festival.
The identity of the festival is based on the geometric figure "triangle", which is a reference to the forest/open sky and rays from a movie camera/projector.
