"Death of a Salesman" Theater Poster Design

General Information About the Game:

The game's main character, Willy, is in his 60s, a father of two children, and a salesman who frequently travels out of town for work. Willy boasts about himself and his job, constantly praising his children, saying things like "you will achieve incredible things in the future." However, despite elevating himself and his job, Willy struggles financially and finds it difficult to make ends meet and pay off his debts. He is constantly giving hope to his spouse and children about the future. Eventually, Willy gets fired from his job and becomes unemployed in his 60s. Until this point, Willy's brother has called him to join him a few times, claiming that he can help Willy earn money for his family. However, Willy always refuses this offer, believing that he will achieve success in his own city. Willy appears to be a strong character, but he actually harbors several psychological issues. Sometimes, his family finds him talking to himself or exhibiting strange behaviors. Towards the end of the game, we learn that Willy's deceased brother, who enters the scene through a door emitting constant white light, has been calling Willy to join him. The money he promised to bring to his family is actually the insurance money they would receive upon Willy's death. With no other options, Willy goes out and gets into a car accident, committing suicide, while everyone is asleep.

Information About the Poster:

Firstly, to capture the dramatic atmosphere of the game, I allocated more space to black and white. The left side of the poster, which is the white area, represents the door emitting light from which Willy's brother constantly calls him. On the right side, I placed a black wall with a perspective to make the white door and light more prominent, serving the perspective of the salesman and his shadow. In the middle of the poster, I emphasized the silhouette of a man carrying a suitcase, representing our main character, by giving it a red color. I placed the first three words of the game's title (Death of a) and the author's name along the perspective of our black wall. For the font, I used a tall and distressed font to evoke a sense of drama and darkness. I made the last word of the game's title (SALESMAN) as the shadow of our salesman, adjusted its perspective, and gave a black-to-gray gradient as it moves away from the light source. Here, I wanted to express how, as our salesman goes towards that white light, towards death, he leaves behind all the hopeful salesman he used to be. On the far left in the white areas, I placed the logo, date, director, and cast of the State Theater.
