Sustainability material map: I chose linoleum as a material and learned about the production location, materials used and the longevity of the material.
Principles of ID in the retail environment: We were asked to compare the design elements of two retail stores that differ in their target audience. I learned how to understand the importance each design element brings to a space.

Descriptive Word Board: Each student was assigned a word to research and teach to the class. I learned the true meaning of the word elegant through this assignment. Not only is it graceful it is also timeless.
Diagrams and mind mapping: The class was asked to find an article comparing interior design and architecture. From there we were to mind map the article. This assignment was my first mind map and a bit of a miss for me but I did get a better understanding of want it means to mind map.
Final Design Assignment: For our final we designed place settings based off of a concept, motif or designer. My inspiration was farm to table and simple elements from a garden. I also used designer Suzanne Rheinstein. Over all I wanted my table setting to feel like it could fit into a southern or French inspired space for brunch.
