The Project:
I attempted to recreate one of the artworks of Hungarian modernist photographer and Bauhaus educator, Laszlo Moholy Naggy, "The Olly and Dolly Sisters", as part of a second year university photography project, where we were asked to choose a photographer and research into their work.
Then drawing inspiration from the work of the photographer I created a series of images.
The image on the left is the original artwork and on the right is the recreation of it that I produced for
the first part of the photography project.
For the production of a personal series of photographs, I experimeted with long - exposure photography and slow shutter speed.
Wearing the dress from the recreation of the original image, I moved in circles waving my arms in order to form an hourglass shape, to capture with body movement the notion of repetition and time passing.
Editing the photographs on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, I chose specific closeups and inspired by the idea of collage in Laszlo Moholy Naggy's work, I created a series of collages of the edited close-ups.
