"Spring Nocturne" is an homage to the Chinese zodiac Year of the Rabbit. The completion of the painting serendipitously aligned with the April full moon or “Pink Moon”. 

I chose a desert hare in order to show off its environment in full bloom. The background and color scheme is based off the Sonora Desert in Arizona. I included Sphinx moths fluttering by as another species you might find in a similar environment.

"Spring Nocturne" was completed using Winsor & Newton tube watercolor paints on Fabriano Cold Press Watercolor Paper.
