"Field notes"
I began this project in September 2022, unplanned, in Kazakhstan, in a state of limbo, without knowing how long I would be here or where I would end up. Not having any solid ground under my feet, I literally began to feel the space around me, using what I found under my feet as the basis for my drawings: dry plants, broken branches, sand, soil. All of this became the basis for the project and finding myself anew.
"Field notes" became a kind of map, capturing not only my physical surroundings, but also my emotional landscape.
