VoltDB Studio (Windows & Web Editions)
VoltDB, by Mike Stonebraker (founder of Postgres and Vertica), is a promising start-up in the "NewSQL" field: a super-scalable, high-performance relational database engine, able to perform hundreds of thousands of SQL transactions per second on commodity hardware and lightweight Linux operating systems.
Because VoltDB is a highly specialized database system, it yet lacks the ability to integrate into existing Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and database management tools. In order to improve user adoption, I decided to bring in my experience and created, in a few weeks a JDBC driver, a command line interface and two "Management Studio" applications:
The user interface is strongly modeled after SQL Server's Management Studio application to ease the learning curve and encourage users to realize that, while a bit exotic, VoltDB is very much a database as they are used to, with many of the same abilities (and performance far beyond anything else!)
