Phobia
I made a project showing visual representations of four phobias (Botanophobia, Claustrophobia, Nyctophobia, and Entomophobia) to raise awareness about how phobias can affect our lives. It can be used as an educational tool in schools, clinics, or mental health awareness campaigns.
Claustrophobia :
Claustrophobia is the irrational fear of confined spaces. People affected by claustrophobia will often go out of their way to avoid confined spaces, such as lifts, tunnels, tube trains and public toilets. But avoiding these places may reinforce the fear.
Some people with claustrophobia experience mild anxiety when in a confined space, while others have severe anxiety or a panic attack. The most common experience is a feeling or fear of losing control.
Botanophobia :
Botanophobia is an intense fear of plants. People with botanophobia may believe that plants are harmful or dangerous and so avoid them. Severe cases can cause symptoms of anxiety and affect daily life. Treatments include exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis and anti-anxiety medications.
Entomophobia :
People with entomophobia have a fear of insects. Someone with entomophobia may have extreme anxiety or fear when seeing or thinking about insects. They may avoid walking or exercising outside and may stay away from outdoor events. Some people may stop leaving their house to reduce their chances of seeing insects
You can overcome a phobia of insects with several therapy options, including exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy.
Nyctophobia :
Nyctophobia is an extreme fear of the dark. The name comes from the Greek word for night. Children and adults with nyctophobia may fear being alone in the dark. They may have anxiety in dark places, and they may have trouble sleeping in a darkened room.
People with nyctophobia may also have trouble sleeping (insomnia), which can lead to fatigue during the day and even trouble keeping a job. Several types of therapy can help children and adults with this disorder.
Thanks for watching!
