Multimodal Lifeskills Module 2014

Trigrip ergonomics inspired by pencil equivalents which compromise with contoured curves which follow the hand and strong edges which reduce rotational slippage.
First task: A basic hand release. Blue being neutral indicates that this hand remains, while the red handle, combined with audio and vibrational signals simulate danger and require a recoil of the hand to continue through the game. This task allows for the strengthening of reaction time and ability to control physical actions.
Second task: A finger spread. Two fingers (usually the thumb and fifth finger) are spread to cover the green sections, while the red section must be avoided (auditory and vibrational response if it is). Again the blue section is neutral requiring no action. This task trains finger and hand control and dexterity.
Third Task: A screw. The end cap is rotated a full circle backwards and then returned. This simulates common twisting activities such as opening bottles and jars, opening doors and interacting with appliances.
Forth Task: A push button. A fundamental multiapplication reaction time based task.
Exploded perspective rendering planning all internal components excluding wires.
Early ideation sketches featuring a split handle design for greater exercise diversity.
Ideation sketches coordinating the differnt tasks as embodiment of relevant problem areas requiring training.
Aesthetic ideations.
