XIII the Death.
The Death Card of Tarot. It is one of the most mystical and controversial cards in the Tarot deck.
This card symbolizes the transformation of an individual, the end of a cycle and the change of a person's life. However, this card can also represent misery and tragedy.
To design this card, I was inspired by the European legends about Witches and ghosts. She has a scythe in reference to the biblical angel of death and is accompanied by butterflies which in some cultures often represent the occult. I chose to use monochromatic colors to bring out the contrast and to give it an aura of mysterious and spectral.
