Augmented Reality Design Of Fable

Brief
As you can see, I used an AR creation to depict a fable story, "The Tortoise and the Hare." This story taught me many valuable lessons in my childhood, so I decided to present it in the form of AR here. Fables are typically aimed at children, so I also made my characters into adorable animals to attract more kids to learn about this story.
Challenge
As this is my first time working with AR effects production, I am not very familiar with all aspects of it. Therefore, I can only add as many 3D elements as possible and interact with the audience based on the foundation of graphic design. However, the overall result still leans towards graphic design.

Sticker Design
Initially, I planned to use the background image as a sticker for my AR project, but after discussing with my mentor, he pointed out that the sticker should be eye-catching to arouse people's curiosity about the AR content. He suggested the idea of a turtle wrapped around the finish line, and I made some modifications to show the moment when the turtle crosses the finish line to win the race. I also added a camera lens to create the impression that other animals are recording this moment, and the lens serves as a reminder for the audience to scan the QR code with their phones to experience more AR effects.

I chose to place it here because this fable originally came from a fairy tale book, and I wanted to place it in a corner of the library waiting for people to discover it, so I chose this location in the end. There are also comic books of a related genre placed next to it, which have some connection with this fable.

Research methodology
The text content was generated by ChatGPT, which simplified the fable story and highlighted its core plot points in my AR content. I also referred to some cute and related characters online and made some modifications to create the remaining graphics.
Idea sketches
The inspiration for the mushroom comes from Genshin Impact, the inspiration for the turtle comes from an AI-generated image, and the hare is my own concept.
Reflection
This is my first attempt at AR production, and the overall experience was quite good. I also learned some other skills during the production process, such as digital painting. Since it was my first time making AR, I basically stayed in the 2D design stage. I believe that I will make more innovations if I have more plans to work with AR in the future.
