A Virtual Reality experience, en plein air.
Inside Monet is a journey through the story of the impressionist painter, produced by Way Experience, a start-up based in Milan. The experience itself is located at Arco della Pace, near the stunning park of Castello Sforzesco, and it takes the spectators inside the paintings that most define Monet's artistic career.
The challenge here was to revisit such masterpieces, reproducing them as 3D environments: 5 paintings and Monet's studio in his house in Giverny were built starting from 2D references.

What the footage looks like when being imported in the VR device. The 360° environment gets distorted into an equirectangular projection to turn it into footage, much like you would do with a map of the Earth, and then gets projected again on a sphere around the spectator.
