FROM SINGLE-FAMILY TO DUAL-FAMILY: A REMODELED HOME

FROM SINGLE-FAMILY TO DUAL-FAMILY: A REMODELED HOME
This project involves the transformation of a single-family home into a dual-family dwelling, providing a practical solution for families who wish to live together while maintaining their privacy and independence. The house is located in an average neighborhood in a small city, and the renovation aims to optimize the existing space while creating separate living areas for each family. The design solution preserves the original character of the house while introducing modern and functional elements that enhance the overall livability of the space. This project demonstrates that with thoughtful design, a modest home can be transformed into a comfortable and functional dwelling that meets the needs of modern families.
The two-story single-family house, located in an average neighborhood, has been renovated and expanded to become a two-family house with independent entrances on two sides of the building. The adaptation of this house was made to meet the needs of two families who want to live together but also value their privacy and personal space.
Upon entering each floor, we find the social area that includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, and service area. In addition, a transition area has been designed between the bedrooms and the living room to create a sense of greater openness and fluidity in the space. In another area, we find two bedrooms on each floor that offer privacy and comfort for each family.
The design of the two-family house with independent entrances on two sides of the building allows each family to have their own entrance and privacy, which provides an environment of harmony and mutual respect. In addition, this layout maximizes interior space and allows each family to have a comfortable area.
