Problem Statement:
Designing a mobile music player app that provides users with an intuitive and delightful experience for listening to music on the go.
User Research:
Before designing the app, I conducted user research to understand the needs and preferences of my target audience. Based on my research, I found that the majority of users listen to music while commuting, exercising, or working. They want a music player app that is easy to navigate, provides high-quality sound, and offers a personalized listening experience.
Design Solution:
After analyzing my user research, I identified the following key features for my music player app:
1. Simple and intuitive interface
2. High-quality sound playback
3. Personalized playlists and recommendations
4. Integration with popular music streaming services
5. Offline listening mode
I designed the app with a minimalistic and clean interface to make it easy for users to navigate and find their favorite music. I used a varying gradient scheme inspired by Spotify. Differing colours enhances the music listening experience and smoothens the flow of emotions, hence I chose different colour gradients for the home screen and the playback screen.
The home screen of the app displays the top played songs and artists, along with recommendations based on their listening history.
I implemented a playback screen that displays the album art, song title, and artist name. Users can control the playback using the play/pause button, skip and rewind tracks.
Final Thoughts:
In conclusion, a good music player app ui provides users with an intuitive and delightful experience for listening to music on-the-go. I designed the app with a minimalistic and clean interface, high-quality sound playback, personalized recommendations and international chart toppers.
