PUR Projet is an NGO leader in pro-nature development. They developed a reforestation project in coffee-growing areas of Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, and Costa Rica as part of the Nespresso Environmental program.
‘TREES AND LIVES: Agroforestry at the Service of People and Nature’ is a book in the form of an herbarium, which describes the project and categorizes some of the tree species used for reforestation in these countries.
The book was fully illustrated by me and was published in English, French, and Spanish.
Each botanical illustration was made by hand in watercolor and pencil and describes the characteristics of the species: leaves, fruits, flowers, textures, colors, and shape and size of the tree.
The tree catalog includes the botanical characteristics of each species and the socioecological uses and traditions linked to each one.
