For this project, we needed to create a concert poster for any artist, in my case, Martin Garrix. Some requirements for this assignment were to use Adobe Photoshop, be on a  10 x 16 In digital canvas, and most importantly, include a texture from real life.
Below are 3 of the many sketches I created for this assignment. Looking through his other concert photos, I knew I wanted there to be lights, which I had planned to use straws for. The only thing I was playing around with was the placement of the words.
These are the straws I used for this assignment
Here are the two images I got from Google that I used for this project
This is a small process documentation for how I went around this project. I started with the background, using a soft brush and then using the gradient blur afterward to smooth out the background even more. Afterward, I worked with the placement of Martin Garrix and his logo behind him. Because I wanted the words to be at the bottom, I erased the bottom portion of him and his logo with a soft brush. I then added the straws, in which I copied and flipped vertically and lowered the opacity to give the light effect. Once that was finished I looked for the closest font to match his logo and wrote out the information at the bottom. Last but not least I used a cloud brush with a blue color to add behind Martin Garrix and his logo. With a soft brush, I added a few dots behind Martin Garrix and used the smear tool to give a rising effect behind him.
