Buttons
Tasked to design 3 functional buttons of different purposes, I chose the theme of the ocean, enraptured by its simplicity, purity, vastness, and depth. By analysing and selecting what makes the ocean what it is, I assigned each button a component of the sea.
FUNCTION: JOYSTICK/SLIDE
The holey and ridged texture of the button mimics the appearance of sea corals and anemones.
FUNCTION: TWIST/TURN
The lined texture and curvilinear shape of the button replicates the beauty and movement of fish fins.
FUNCTION: TOUCH
The texture of the button was made so that it replicated a water droplet breaking the surface tension of the sea and the subsequent ripples that follows.
