Master Sword Pop Art

This came from me re-learning photoshop, however it's cool seeing how using a black and white image of lava flow on top of a colored image turns out really interesting.
This (water) one is the last one I did and while it looks okay. It's not my best. I like how the water works with the background but I wish I could have done something more.
This (forest) one is my favorite even if I couldn't figure out why the sword with the gray around it won't remove it. The forest is nice because a lot of the trees make great light rays. The trees also break up a more than a pure texture could.
This (metal) one is just fun. Original with the four on the left I was going to take this seriously but when I found jagged and wrinkled texture images I just had fun with it. The middle left two are some of my favorite backgrounds.
For This I was starting to get the Idea of one texture per background but I was still a ways off. I bottom right middle image has a small reference in the background to the foreground.
This makes me realize that Perlin Noise just makes everything cool.
There Was an attempt made here; however, I can't say it turned out or that I knew what I was doing at this point.
This is the original image. The only color palette I came up with completely on my own (the top left). The rest I learned that with human input good looking images usually have good looking color pallets.
