Dreamhouse. 3D. Semester 8
Dominic van Bladel DDM2A.
Little explanation about this assignment! We have to make our own dreamhouse in Blender during the 3D classes. We need to work with unwrappings, textures, lighting and have to make a small animation. I've never animated before so it'll be a learning process! Obviously I started making a planning. I noticed that in the previous semester having a planning is actually really nice. After that I'll do some digging on a dreamhouse I'd like to make. I'll make a styleboard or a moodboard for that!
This is the planning I made for this semester. I'm starting with a colored checklist again and wrote down all of the dates, including the free days of this semester.
I figured I wanted something modern, why? Because I usually pick something fantasy themed and this time I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. I find modern houses pretty interesting especially because of the use of windows. It looks very sleek and refined. The way these houses are built look very cool as well. It always makes me wonder how living in one of these big modern houses would be. I think it'd be very fascinating. I also made a moodboard of sketches of modern houses.
I started working on my design for my house, I decided to make a 1 floor modern house. I drew the base upper view of the house and then switched to the sims 4 to recreate the actual sketch. Like this I'll have a better view on how I need to make the house in Blender.
I think it looks pretty good! I just need to adjust some walls and still give it some details. Maybe add in some furniture to give it the right look.
This time I continued working in Blender. I'm trying to make the base layout of the house.
First I made the plant of the house and designated the rooms. Then I lifted the walls to make the structure. To make the windows and doors I first used a cube to make the holes using the Bolean modifier. For the doors I used a prebuild mesh that comes with the Archimesh add on. For the roof, I simply extruded outwards, gave it some heigh, and closed it. I made the beds, I worked with a cube and extruded it. For the other furniture I used Blenderkit. I don't have enough skills to make the furniture. This is ONLY to show what the rooms would look like with furniture. When it came to the wallpapers I downloaded pictures, used UV mapping and applied them. I also decided to add a nice little garden house in the middle! I thought it'd be an original touch.

Here are some process pictures.
And lastly, here are some render shots of the house!
