Hammer

For this practical project at Luca School of Arts I made a hammer using the materials and machinery available at our campus. I wanted to do something special with this design so instead of making a regular straight peen hammer, I decided to go with a design that has both soft and hard faces without losing the functionality of the flat peen. This was achieved by crafting an additional cap of soft plastic. This cap can be stored on the back of the handle with a tight fit. The cap can be attatched to the face of the hammer using grub screws and an Allen key, which is also stored in the back of the handle. To personalize this hammer, I stamped my initials in the metal hammerhead.
The hammer is completely in balance, this was calculated by making a technical drawing using solidworks.
