The Nightmares are another project of mine, they were first created as Mascots for my Twitch where I streamed games and art, but ended up growing as it's own separate little world with rich stories and characters.
They all have a very deep culture with all sorts of mysticism and conflicts both amongst themselves and other creatures that share their world.
In the animation above, called "A Nightmarish BBQ", four Nightmares can be seen enjoying food and a conversation while under the watch of two Champions, those being Buer, the World Shaker and Andras, Harbinger of Doom.
The vast majority of Nightmares are the smaller variant, while some manage to reach full elderhood, those are called "Champions" and they serve as guides and protectors in their society.

When observing the landscapes in their world many towers can be seen from afar, most of which are completely empty, but in this case the artwork above allows a look into one of these structures.

They have strong connections amongst themselves, but not all Nightmares follow the same beliefs and ideas, which often leads to conflicts.
Most of them follow the Lord of Nightmares, known as "Ascalaphas", he serves as a bridge that connects all of them, a believer or not, allowing for peaceful negotiation, but sometimes... a bridge is not enough... There are things out there far beyond the reaches of their lord.

Not much is known nor understood about the Dreams, only that their history shares similarities with the Nightmare's, and that throughout time, many wars have been fought against them.
The Lord of Nightmares believes that a Lord of Dreams may exist within their world, and he hopes to someday be able to negotiate peace, or perhaps, fight for it if deemed necessary.

This is Nahum, the Lord of All That Breathes Fire.
He is a very powerful Nightmare that hasn't been seen for a long time, many believe he is in the land of giants, where he is training to overcome stronger enemies.
This is Aphion, The Immovable Protector, he was last seen taking care of a small tribe of Nightmares that had just settled nearby his domain.
This is the Storm King, a very powerful sorcerer that serves the Lord of Nightmares directly, he is capable of manipulating Energy at will, creating powerful lightning strikes.
Woka is known as The Judge of Serenity, he punishes transgressors in the Imperial Capital. No Nightmares were harmed in the production of the animation above. (It's a doll.)
Although he possesses many shapes and forms, this is the most common form in which the Lord of Nightmares is depicted.
And for now, that's it... The Nightmares are somewhat a shelved project, but I do have plans for it in the future, many revisions and reworks since I improved a lot since I stopped working on it. :)
