In the past year, we had the opportunity to create the main visual poster for the 520 Shopping Festival on May 20th, jointly organized by JD.com and Modern Sky.
In Chinese, the pronunciation of 520 is similar to that of "I love you," making it a popular term for expressing love online and gradually turning it into a secondary Valentine's Day. Despite not being an official holiday, 520 holds significant influence in the Chinese online world and among the younger generation. As such, our illustration style for this creation is more surreal and hazy, incorporating cosmic elements from Modern Sky. The themes we aim to convey through our work and the event are gravity, the universe, and romantic mood.
To craft this colourful and romantic universe, we designed a unique title and created a series of materials specifically for the event, such as cosmetics, jewelry, and luxury goods. Some of these products are meticulously drawn in a realistic style and will be featured in the 520 shopping festival's special promotion. We hope that participants will be immersed in the romantic atmosphere and feel the gravitational pull of this fictional universe.
