SintLucas Project ~ My Room - Herbalist

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________葉
For a project in our school we were tasked to create a room in 3D for a character, we weren't able to unfortunately pick the kind of room we were going to make because we were given random prompts! I was lucky thankfully and received the "Herbalist" prompt.
To begin, we had to first write a story about our character. Now, while this may feel like we're designing a character it's only there to make us know what the general vibe of the room would be. Like, if a character is really messy, would that automatically make the room messy or if the character loves light, they'd probably have a lot of light etc.

Under this text you'll find the description I made for the character:

After being done with the story of my character, for a few finishing touches I had to...design the character...using other images as a sort of moodboard! Again, we weren't allowed to design the character but the character had to kinda help support what the design of the room was going to become.
And once that was done, it was time to make the general vibe of the room! I went with a more forestry vibe for it fit the entire theme more and I really wanted to make sure it was reflected with the room I was going to make. You know, cause my character is a Herbalist meaning the room will be more nature-based.
Once I was finished with the moodboard for the room I wanted to kind of look into the kind of styles I wanted the room to have. I really adore low-poly styles but I since I lacked the expertise on it I just decided to do something similar to it. Like, kind of make it look low-poly while it isn't low-poly in the slightest.
Once I was done with my Mood and Style boards it was time to make a block out. To explain what a block out is is quite simple, it functions similarly to a sketch in the way that you make it to know what you want to place with it. While I initially modeled a few things already I was quickly told that you're not really supposed to model in the first place when doing block out. Instead, that everything should just be simple to not waste too much time on it. A small mistake on my end, but not too much of a detriment!
After I was done with the Block Out I had to pick my own musical number to fit the vibe of the room, I originally had 10 songs but I ended up going for "Thus always to Tyrants - The Oh Hellos" because it REALLY fit the entire room a lot.

Under this text you may view the link to the song:

And once the Block out was done, it was time for me to begin modeling the room, I unfortunately didn't make a LOT of progress shots for I was really busy with other school projects making me forget to do it but I was at least able to experiment a bit with some things. Like for example a setting that made the graphics of my room look really old in the style of early Playstation graphics.
