Betta Fish Study
This is a photo reference I found in a Google search and desaturated. I traced the outline from the photo to transfer so that I wouldn't have any disproportionate shapes, then free-handed the rest.
REALISM
To draw these, I printed out the original photo reference and put tracing paper on top of it so I could quickly create multiple iterations of the logo.
LOGOS
I've done gesture drawing in the past, so this was quick work. I experimented with different media, as is labeled at the bottom of each image.
GESTURES
Part of this project involved brainstorming ways to 'transform' the betta fish. My drawing process for these was similar to the logos, I laid with the original photograph under tracing paper, but did not stay true to the image in many cases.
