The style of René Gruau’s work has inspired my final women’s illustration that I created through the use of Photoshop. The designs that I discovered via Pinterest, gave me a better understanding and insight into the style and creations from Gruau. I have attempted to highlight the importance of René Gruau’s designs and various other Illustrators work into my design. I feel that my final illustration embraces the feminism flowing throughout these discoveries, which I have attached to my Floral Illustrations via Pinterest.
Step 1- This is one of my first fashion illustrations, inspiration taken from researching different forms of flowers, I discovered this flower at home and decided to transfrom and enhance it through my work. Firstly I drew this illustration into my layout pad before continueing with scanning into photoshop.
Step 2- After scanning into photoshop, I selected the paint bucket tool and selected the figures to add the colour, in effort to create a more intense and enhance the appearance of my models. I have also used the pencil tool to fill in any lines that were missed due to scanning.
step 3- I have focused in on the models shoes, selected this colour to blend with the overall piece. I selected the paint bucket tool and used the magic wand tool to add more colour to the other shoes.
Step 4- I focused cloesly on the flower, moved it onto a new page to edit and transform to a more suitable finish for my dress. I used different filters blur and noise to create this piece, before re-adding it to the original work.
Step 5- Once I had re-added the flower back to the original project, I selected the magic wand tool to pick up the flower, I then used the Ctrl+P and duplicated the flower to create the bottom layer of both dresses. This tool work effectively in achieving the intended image. I have also used the brush tool to add the colour lilac to my work to finish creating my digitized garment. I added more colour in the shoes through the use of the brush tool as well as the black lining gave a unfinished effect to the work.
Step 6- To Finish this project, I selected the smudge tool, for tidying and finishing off the edges of the garment and the models. This tool worked tremendously well to complete this digitized illustration smoothing out any rough parts and adding a more professional finish. I also selected the paint bucket tool to add the lighter background as I wanted to keep it simple and elegant.
