HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN

I am thrilled to have illustrated a book for my mom as a christmas gift, which tells the heartwarming tale of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl". 

The story follows a poor little girl who tries to sell matches on a cold winter night, but no one buys from her. Desperate and cold, she seeks refuge in a corner and lights up the matches one by one to keep herself warm. As she gazes at the flames, she sees beautiful visions that take her away from her miserable life. It is one of my mom’s favorite childhood story, she loves Andersen tales.

But as the matches burn out, she realizes that she must return to reality, where she is alone and freezing. In her final moments, she sees a vision of her grandmother, who has passed away, and she feels warmth and love for the first time in her life.

I hope my illustrations do justice to this timeless classic.
