Triplex Shoe Model

Reference shoe
Brief
For the first submission I had to create an exact 1:1 replica of the chosen shoe I chose. For my shoe I and to focus on how the shoe is shaped and its details.
I was tasked to use my chosen footwear and make an exact replica using a white Triplex board for the shoe . I had to include visible details such as fabric split lines, vent holes, lacing, material thickness, etc.
Process making
Final Results

Errors
1. My measurements were off:
-the side panels have an added length because the front part and the side panel would not stick together because there was a gap
-the two front parts did not stick together, that is why there are folds in the front.

BRIEF
I was tasked to use my chosen footwear and make an exact replica using a white Triplex board of the shoe using a 1:1 scale. I had to include visible details such as fabric split lines, vent holes, lacing, material thickness, etc.
The following task was to make a "half shoe" triplex model. Where we take the shoe this time and create a model where it is cut in half.
The purpose of this task is to develop the ability to make use of physical dimension of an existing product or item to build a duplicate cardboard model.
The deliverables are
1:1 scale half-model shoe

PROCESS MAKING
1.How the outlines here were able to be glued together is by using masking, placing it on the needed part you want to trace. Trace the section but either using pencil or a craft knife. After the section is traced, take the traced masking tape and place it on the triplex board and cut out the section.
2.The picture shows how I cut out the detail of the bottom of the shoe, by measuring the length of the detail, drawing the lines on a piece with the exact dimensions. The piece is then cut in 2 equal strips and bent right in the middle to create the exact bottom detail.
3. In the picture I use the reference shoe to guide me on  where exactly I should the letters on the  bottom of the shoe.
FINAL RESULTS
LESSONS
1. When I want to make the thick triplex thinner, I have to be careful when using the craft knife because it can remove more than I wanted or expected.
2. When I put the glue on the part where needed I to look out for how much I put on the shoe because it can spread or create fingerprints.
3. Have patience when putting the glue on the shoe. When I pulled away too early the parts I wanted to glue together, they started to pulled away from each other and created a web/ stretched glue effect on the shoe.

Brief
In the last part of this project we were tasked with creating an imprint or mould of our footwear but the half of it. A tooling block mould made to understand how the details are created when using the block.

Errors

1. It was challenging to imagine every detail in reverse.
2.Trying to figure out the shoe laces.
3. Trying to measure the parts so that they can fit into the curved parts of the mould.

PROJECT REFLECTION
My reflection of this project is that craeting a 1:1 replica I have as accurate about my measurements.
A little less glue goes a long way. When I applied the glue, I could have used something other than the tube it came from so that if the glue spilled out it would spread onto the triplex shoe.
The glue also creates some residue, leaving some fingerprints behind and some unwanted spots.
Accurate measurements needed to be applied to consider the model 1:1 scale.
Triplex is not an easy cardboard to work with.
When the triplex is thick or can't be bent, then you can remove it layer by layer to make sure it can bent.
Careful when cutting the parts because you can cut it the wrong way or cut off a couple millimeters off and it can effect what the shoe would look like.
When the triplex is thin, I have to be careful how I treat that piece because when it can create dents and marks beacuse of how thin it is.
Plan as I go and don't rush to glue the pieces together.
