Brief:
In this project we were asked to create a 3D model of a shoe out of white triplex board and I chose to create a Jonathan D shoe which was quite challenging.

Development process

Task 1 - Full Shoe
The first brief was to create the entire shoe on a 1:1 scaled. This is where I came up with the idea to peal off the skin of the triplex board and twist it for the top part of the shoe sole.

Task 2 - Section
In this brief I had to create the half of the actual shoe to show the interior and the hidden details.

Task 3 - Mould
I had to create an imprint of the opposite half of the shoe in a tooling block. I learned how to think backwards and visualise how the shoe would fit in a negative space to create a mould.

Reflection
I found this project challenging because it was my first time working with Triplex board. making the full shoe was a lot less challenging than making the section and the mould, because the task was to make a copy of the real full shoe out of triplex. The section part of the project was a bit more challenging because I had to imagine the shoe cut in half and how it will look from the inside, and create it out of triplex. The mould part was the most challenging because I had to think backwards and imagine the negative space of the shoe, and create a mould out of triplex board. This project was fun, I have gained skills and techniques for working with triplex board which I will use for future projects.
