And Sew It Begins
Description
Our fourth project in CRT 222 was to make an apron. We learned how to cut fabric and sew it together using a sewing machine. This was definitely one of the more enjoyable ones, though I still encountered problems here and there, such as learning how to thread a sewing machine.
Process
I first had to cut two apron shaped pieces from my cloth, which was an old bedsheet, because it was so thin. After making sure that they were the right lengths, I folded and pinned the edges.
I sewed one piece completely by itself just to get a feel for the sewing machine, and then I sewed to second piece over the first one to keep its original shape.
Then I sewed on a nylon strap for the neck loop and straps with a buckle and fastener on each for the waist band. I had to hand sew these since there were too many layers to fit in the sewing machine.
After laying it out, I think it looks like how I expected it to!
