BRIEF:
We were tasked to create a 1:1 scale triplex model of any shoe of our choice. This task consists of three parts: a full replica of the shoe, a sectioned model of the same shoe and also a mould of the chosen shoe. This project served the purpose of helping us understand the process of generating ideas into life-size replicas to represent an idea. These models needed to display great attention to detail, accuracy and neatness. For this project we were only allowed to use triplex and glue.

BRIEF 1: Replica
For the first task we were required to create a 1:1 replica of our chosen shoe. We had to pay attention to detail like: stitching, laces, the sole etc. I tried to create a replica of the shoe that was as detailed and neat as possible.

TASK 1 - FULL SHOE

BRIEF 2: Section
Part two of the task was to create a full section of our shoe. We had to include all detail and imagined what the shoe would look if it had been cut exactly down the middle.

TASK 2 - SECTION

BRIEF 3: Tooling block
For the third part of the task we had to create a tooling block for our shoe. We had to imagine what the inverse would look like and then construct that. The same as with the other two models the tooling block had to include all detail like stitching and laces.

TASK 3 - MOULD

PROJECT REFLECTION
This was my first project as an industrial design student. When we got the brief for this project it seemed like an impossible task to do, but at the end of this project I was surprised with what I was capable of creating. I enjoyed making the different shoes to help understand how the shoe looks.
