In 2019, I had the great opportunity to do my internship at Barcelona Glass Studio. It was my first time at a blown glass workshop. Ferran Collado, a Catalan glass artist founder of the studio, welcomed me into his workshop for 3 months to be his assistant in exchange for learning how to work with blown glass techniques and living day to day on a glass artist life. It was one of the most magical experiences during my career as a designer. The atmosphere inside this workshop is not easy to describe with words. The sounds, the lights, the heat of the fire and the colors of the glass left me stunned.
Ferran is passionate about technique and everything that involves glass. He is the founder of the association of glassmakers in his country (CATALUNYA), thus promoting art and glass crafts. His profile is that of a self-taught artist. He has a natural ability to work glass in virtually all techniques and this makes him a very unique artist. Hyperactive, enterprising, he likes challenges and sharing his lessons.

As time went by, Ferran began to trust me with some pieces so that I could photograph them on the street and in the university studio.
