Queensland Ecosciences precinct - Soil data sheet

Soil Data Sheet for the Queensland Ecosciences precinct
This project involved meeting with a client from the Queensland Ecosciences precinct in order to move their paper soil data sheets to a digital platform. These soil data sheets are used out in the field where the scientists take data about the soil in certain locations. The purpose of utilising a digital method of recording the data was to save the scientists from having to carry the physical paper copies around only to then have to input the data again into a computer back at the office.

I conducted background research into the work that the Ecosciences precinct does and their current design choices. As a team we set up regular meetings to each ask questions, take notes and update the client on the progress of the prototype.

Working in fortnightly sprints, we created paper prototypes, then digital, and performed user testing with the client and others using these digital prototypes. User testing involved observation, and survey methods.

After user testing and further meetings with the client, we refined, designed and built the final functional prototype with which the client was very happy.
