Initially created as a mere placeholder for one of my early Vector Design projects, a character named “Disco Dude” unexpectedly evolved into a fully fleshed-out character. As I delved deeper into the design process and incorporated colors, the character gained more complexity and began to develop a backstory in my mind.
Over time, I found myself utilizing “Disco Dude” in other projects throughout the semester, until he eventually became the primary focus of a larger composition for a class assignment. The assignment required us to demonstrate our understanding of creating depth in vector design by crafting a vast scene centered around a fictional character, and “Disco Dude” was the perfect fit.
