Cross-Cultural Book Cover Designs

I began by studying "The Photobook" by Phaidon and selecting photographs that related to the book's themes and intended audience. I then used these photographs as a starting point, altering them to fit my design and incorporating other creative elements to produce unique and engaging book covers.
By representing Western books in the East and vice versa, this project aims to bridge the gap between different cultures and highlight the universality of literature. Through the designer's creative process, each book cover captures the essence of the book while also incorporating elements of the opposite culture, resulting in a cross-cultural dialogue between East and West.
These pictures capture the process of the carving and creating new media.
Overall, this project showcases my skills in graphic design and my ability to think outside the box to create visually compelling book covers that communicate the essence of the book while also highlighting the universality of literature.
These are the final products:
The books I designed covers for:
The Prophet - Kahlil Gibrani
How to Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
1984 - George Orwell
