This project involved the renovation of a highrise condo used by an extended family for weekends downtown.  Difficulties were posed by the radiused window wall and very low concrete ceilings, which are offset by spectacular views of Navy Pier and Lake Michigan.

The radiators all along the window all were transformed from obstacles into focal points of the unit, helping to frame the views.  The length of the hallway used to access the bedrooms was accentuated with a niche at the end, drawing the eye to the featured artwork.  A large-scale rolling millwork door separates the Master Bedroom from the Master Bathroom, becoming a piece of art in the Master Suite.  Beautiful materials, a comfortable plan and the restrained use of color provide a welcome weekend getaway overlooking a vital part of Chicago's lakefront.
