Día 1. En la noche de calenda, los topiles iluminan el camino por donde se bailan sones y jarabes en las paradas principales del pueblo.
Day 1. Night of "Calenda". The "topiles" light the way of the calenda, where one dances in important areas of the town.
Día 2. Convite. Una vez mas se baila y se goza alrededor del pueblo. En este día muchos deciden portar sus favoritas prendas típicas.
Day 2. "Convite." Once more we dance and rejoice around the town. On this day many people decide to use their favorite traditional outfits.
Las Bandas visitantes son importantes ya que alegran la festividad con la música de la región. En este año visito la banda de San Juan del Rio y San Pablo Yaganiza.
The bands that visit the town are of great importance. They bring joy to the Carnaval with their music. This year bands from San Juan del Rio and San Pablo Yaganiza played during the festivities.
Carne tendida; la cual será utilizada durante la festividad para alimentar a los visitantes. La carne proviene de los toros que fueron donados por personas de la comunidad.
Meat that is hanging on a wire to dry. It will be used to feed visitors on the festival days. The meat comes from bulls that where donated by people from the town.
Día 3. A la "Mesa de Jóvenes" se les asigna este cargo en el cual son responsables de realizar actividades importantes durante el carnaval. Ellos se encargan de realizar el tepache, el cual se reparte durante los días del jaripeo. También de bailar con las marmotas la noche de calenda y la tarde del convite. Igualmente buscan a las personas que realizaran el papel de payasos. Durante el jaripeo se encargan de ir a jalar los toros que participaran. En esta ocasión pintaron un tapete en el centro del corral.
Day 3. "Mesa de Jóvenes" a group of young men are assigned this service and are in charge of helping organize important events during the Carnval. They are in charge of the making of the "tepache" that is given out during the festivities. During the calenda they are responsible for dancing with the "marmotas." They also find the people that dress up as clowns on the Sunday of Carnaval. During the jaripeo they pull the bull into bull pen. In this ocassion they painted a "tapete" in the center of the rodeo.
Después de la Misa de Celebración se llevaron acabo unos bailes por un grupo folklórico de la ciudad de Oaxaca.
After the mass celebration a folklore group from the city of Oaxaca participated in some dances.
Los payasos se alistan en la casa del presidente de la "mesa de jóvenes." Ellos participaran en la inauguración del jaripeo. En el cuales dicen unos versos graciosos, bailan, reparten mezcal, avientan dulces y frutas.
The clowns dress-up in the house of the president of the "Mesa de Jóvenes." They will be participating in the inaguration of the jaripeo. They shout some fun versus, dance, give out mezcal, throw some candy and fruit.
Una vez que los payasos están listos se sale junto con la banda a recoger a la Reina del Carnaval para finalmente llegar al corral del jaripeo.
Once the clowns finish getting ready, along with the band they make their way to the house of the Queen of Carnaval to finally reach the grounds of the jaripeo.
"La monta del payaso." Es una tradición que el payaso inaugure el jaripeo montando el primer toro. En el pueblo se tiene un estilo diferente de montar el toro. En este se monta el toro sobre el cuello (sobre la nuca).
The riding of the clown. A tradition is for the clown to open up the jaripeo riding the first bull. In the town there is a diffrent stlye to ride the bull. That style is riding the bull by the neck.
Personas de la comunidad que son asignadas o voluntarios ayudando en el jaripeo. Algunas cuales vienen de otras comunidades circunvecinas.
People from the town who are assigned or voluntarily help in the rodeo. Some of which come from other towns nearby.
Como costumbre y tradición el día domingo del jaripeo esta reservado exclusivamente para toreros y jinetes de otras comunidades vecinas que llegan a deleitarnos con sus montas.
The customs and traditions dictate that on sunday's jaripeo, the bulls are reserved exclusivly for people of other towns that delight us with their presence.
El jaripeo dura por tres días en el cual se disfruta de la acción y adrenalina del jaripeo, al igual que otras actividades.
During the next three days one enjoys the accion and adrenaline of the jaripeo ,as well as other activities.
Día 5. Martes de Carnaval "mañanitas". Como ultimo día de festividades se realiza un ultimó recorrido por las calles de la comunidad. Empieza a las 4:00am amenizado por las bandas y algunas personas que deciden no dormir hasta qué acabe el recorrido. En esta ocasión terminó a las 9:00am.
Day 5. Tuesday of Carnaval "mañanitas". On the last day of Cranaval, a last parade is done around the streets of the town. It starts at 4:00am. Along with the bands, some people decide it is best not to sleep until it is over. On this ocasion it ended at 9:00am.
El día continua con mas actividades. En este dia salen los payasitos de carnaval. Niños que al igual que el domingo nos dan versos para reir y avientan dulces al publico.
The day continues with more activities. The kids dress up as clowns. They also say verses that make one laugh and throw candy.
También en esta tarde la "Liga Femenil," que es esta integrada por mujeres de la comunidad, regalan aguas frescas al publico. La reina del Carnaval Rebecca Mata disfrutando de una agua fresca, dándonos su presencia hasta el ultimo momento del carnaval.
In the afternoon the "liga Femenil" who is made up women are in charge of making "aguas frescas" for the public. The "reina de Carnaval" Rebecca Mata enjoying her water. This is the last day she comes out.
Al termino del jaripeo se bailan sones y jarabes dentro de él corral dado por finalizado la fiesta brava. El pueblo despide a las bandas visitantes y Reina del Carnaval dando así concluido el Carnaval anual.
As the day comes to an end, the town says its goodbyes to the visiting bands and the Queen of Carnaval. With that giving an end to the anual Carnaval.
