Smart Shoe Rack- Rapid & Improvisational Prototyping

Smart Shoe Rack
The purpose of the smart shoe rack was to design and create a show box that gives footwear (specifically athletic footwear) proper ventilation while being aesthetically pleasing and minimalist. It is powered by an Arduino that is connected to a dc motor attached to a fan along with an ultrasonic range finder that detect when the shoes have been placed in the box. Once the shoes have been placed in the box the fan turns on and once the shoes have been taken out the fan will turn off.
The product was designed in fusion 360. This allowed me to see the dimensions along with where to put the components before I physically built the product.
The wood was cut on a saw and then assembled together using a super hot glue gun.
The clear acrylic was cut using a laser cutter which I used as opposed to a saw so I could have cut outs for the ports and peripherals.
