Venomous Animals of Missouri–A set of mobile app icons
An informative, visually attractive system of app icons was a requirement for this project. I researched which venomous animals to include and broke it down to Osage Copperhead snake, Giant Water Bug, Paper Wasp, Red-Headed Centipede, and Missouri Tarantula. I wanted to have the whole shape of the body of the animal with minimal detail for easy identification. Gradients inspired me because of their middle-range detail, which enhanced the overall design and added depth. For the background, I chose a green gradient to refer to venom. A thick sans serif was used for the typeface for an easy read.
