ALMATY-Arena is a concept of territory development at the entrance to the city of Almaty. A particular set of public buildings has already been formed here:
— Almaty Arena complex
— the largest mosque in the city under construction
— entertainment and administrative premises
The design area adjoins the neighborhood with residential buildings. The latter need new additional public and green spaces. So everything here creates the prerequisites for the improvement of the site. Thus, We offer to place a modern multifunctional residential area with high-quality planning solutions.
Principles of the area formation
1. To ensure rational service of the territory and communication with adjacent areas while forming the street frame.
2. To form visual corridors for the complete perception of architectural dominants (the Almaty Arena complex and the mosque) from a long distance.
3. To create the network of pedestrian boulevards that connects all natural areas into a single system and forms green corridors between massive recreational facilities.
4. To place residential and public buildings rationally with access to green spaces and transport infrastructure.

Single water-green framework
provides residents with access to natural areas and public spaces
The green framework is a developed hierarchical structure with different ways of use:
1. The city park is the essential planning axis of the district. It runs through the area from southwest to northeast and connects all neighborhoods and facilities. The park has large outdoor venues for city events.
2. A quiet part of the park is a place for recreation and health walks. It adjoins the medical complex.
3. An amusement park with an amusement area is placed in the southwestern part.
4. Pedestrian boulevards provide access to schools and public park.
5. The district central square plays the role of a meeting and recreation place for residents.
6. The square in front of the mosque serves as a public space for all residents.
Developed district service system
includes urban facilities, social infrastructure, community sub-centers, and embedded commercial facilities
— The area is spatially connected to the Almaty Arena complex, which belongs to the category of centers of the global level. There is a city-level facility nearby — a shopping and entertainment complex.
— Infrastructure to maintain the area along pedestrian boulevards provides convenient access for residents to it.
— Social infrastructure adjoins green boulevards and creates a comfortable and safe environment away from noisy traffic.
— The crossover point of the boulevards is the center of the district with all the necessary functions of service.
Additionally, each block group has its small sub-center with daily demand facilities.
Transport framework
provides for a developed hierarchical transport system
— The transport framework effectively serves the district and excludes the transit of personal transport through residential areas.
— Pedestrian boulevards and bike lanes form a continuous pedestrian-bicycle framework that combines social facilities, housing, and recreation areas.
— A public transport route runs along the perimeter streets, which ensures the accessibility of the area without using a car.
Zones of various functional purposes
rationally placed and intertwined
We use the concept of mixed-use development — multifunctional design or mixed-use. It defines a diverse type of development, which is not only related to the general conception of the district but also adds diversity even within one quarter. That is how we form the live-work-play principle within the entire district. Zoning becomes organized and open to everyone at the same time.
Our territory planning principles involve creating a rich and safe environment with a priority on pedestrian traffic and the preservation of green spaces.
The combination of the final design solution and existing facilities will transform the district into a hallmark of the city — the Almaty Western Gate ensemble.
