Rebel
'Nongchup Meira Ponjembee'
A verson of Panthoibee when she turned into flames and searched for her lover.

Princesses Panthoibi(Thampha) was the lone daughter among the seven sons . She was playful and loves to explore and doesn't fit into the bubble, the society build for woman. She grew up to be a beautiful woman.
She was married to the powerful Khaba Clan in the west. It was a political marriage with a lot of power play and drama in the process. But Panthoibee cannot fit herself to the bubble of a normal married women routine. She was always in a free and playful mood and didn't have a good relationship with the house and her husband.
One day when she was taking a bath in the stream, a handsome and robust Youngman chanced upon her, he was none other than the powerful ruler of the east hills known as Nongpok Ningthou, who was believed to be a incarnation of Atingkhok( a major meitei god). They were mesmerized by each other and fall in love at that moment. Then Nongpok Ningthou proposed that they should run away and live together at the top of Langmai hills, but she refused as she think the time is not right. She was a married woman and did not want her actions to affect the honor and prestige of her parents. But she planned to leave in a way that the people wish her out of the house. The mother in law also wanted her out of the house as she cannot confined Panthoibi within the norm.
The in-laws doesn't like her and didn't know how to handle her so she became segregated from the other members of the family. She was called a demon, witch sinch that time when her mother in law found the cut off part of death infant baby in her fish contener.
One day when she think the time was right Panthoibee turn herself into flames and flew towards the west in search for her lover while the Khabas pursued her.
This one is about the story of the Khongchumnupi (Pleiads) constellation and how it came to be in meitei beliefs

Long, long ago six girl went to buy fish, there they met with six young tribal fisherman who were catching and selling the fish. They fall in love during the fishing but no fishes were caught that day, then the men suggested them to spend the night together and leave at morning with a plenty of fish. Knowing that their parents won't forgive them and punished them if they spend the night with a man, they refused at first but eventually agreed and spend the night together. The next morning, seeing that the girls were afraid to go home the men consoled them and said if the situation at their home is getting hard, they could leave their home and go up to the sky together with them after five days at a agreed place.
When the girls reached home, their father and brothers treat them badly and drove them out of their home. Unable to bear the humiliation they left the house and came to the promised place only to found out that their lover were not there. They were heart broken but they carried on climbing the hills. On their way they face a lot of difficulties. One of the girls went into labor and gave birth to cicada which they left it behind. After climbing high and stiff mountain they've finally saw the god of upper region, Soraren. He felt pity for them after hearing their story and transform them into stars which constituted the Pleiads in the sky.
Once there live two brothers, the elder was wise but the younger was very foolish.
One day, the elder brother instructed his brother to take out the calf and tie it to the bamboo when the sun reached the top of the Bamboo tree and pour warm water to their old mother and gave her a bath while he went to the paddy field, the younger brother took his bother words literally and tie the got to the top of the Bamboo when the sun is at that height, then he took out his old mother and fetch the hot pot of water and poured it on the mother, when the water was poured the mother died from the hot water with her mouth open. To see his mother mouth open, he thought she was hungry and peel of a sugarcane stem and put it on her mouth.
This is how a foolish brother killed their goat and mother

There are many folk stories of fool and his miss adventure that my grandfather told us in the night before dinner, they are mostly comedic in nature.
I guessed it's a way of saying ones foolishness can bring ones destruction.
