Introduced in the fall of 2023, The Lunar Legends Series commenced with the 2024 Year of the Dragon: Legend of the Azure Dragon fine gold & pure silver bullion designs. The previous collection, The Lunar Calendar Series, ran from 2012 to 2023 & is the first bullion range to ever commemorate the Lunar New Year or Spring Festival as well as to feature an obverse-to-reverse design perspective. This new series takes a different conceptual approach with an obverse design that depicts each of the 12 animals of the lunar cycle as a star encircling the New Moon. Throughout the day, a two hour window of potency is allotted to each animal & the dragon, which places 5th clockwise, is at its most powerful between 7 & 9 a.m. Its zenith is marked with the Chinese characters that translate as 8 a.m. The decorative presentation envelope shares the legend of the Azure Dragon, Guardian of the East and harbinger of the Spring season and bountiful harvests.
