Project Brief
I was tasked to design a prenium card for Nickelodeon. It was surpringly a fun unique experience because never I imagine to be given the chance to create animated short films and premiums for children’s TV channel, Nickelodeon. The objective was to create premiums as part of publicity campaign for a new Spongebob Squarepants spin-off series, Kamp Koral. This challenge gives me opportunity to experiment new techniques, tools, and other elements I may not usually attempt for more serious work. Best work will be used in the campaign
Before I begin proceed with this project, I went to watched some famous Nickeleodn shows as well as drawing some of their characters in their respective shows because I need to ensure sure my art is consistent to Nickeleoden and being presentable to public view too
Process
Knowing Nickelodeon, it’s obvious that I’m using SpongeBob SquarePants characters as my inspiration for my art design as said characters are extremely famous and people instantly know they are from Nickelodeon. After done creating several iterations and polishing my art design, I then proceed to do the same thing for the premium design. During the process, I was experimenting what I can do with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign while maintaining the Nickelodeons brand identity (colours and fonts included)
Outcome
While I wasn’t able to win in the Nickelodeon design competition, I’m glad and appreciative that I am to be able to expand my creativity in a more real-life work scenario with fascination at complex work with major companies. I got better at my craft with this challenge
