Supporting DEI Values Through Employee Resource Groups (ERG)
Role: SMBC WIN Communications Committee member and volunteer
Joined and championed the Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN), SMBC's first Employee Resource Group, dedicated to raising awareness of the challenges that women face in today's workplace.
As a Communications Committee member, I was involved in the ideation, marketing, website development and launch, execution of live and virtual leadership events aimed at helping women across the firm to network and connect with mentors to discuss, understand, and address contemporary workforce issues.
Following the success of WIN, eight additional Employee Resource Groups were founded to support the firm's commitment to diversity, sustainability, and human rights, including The Black Organization for Leadership and Development (BOLD), Veterans Enhancing Talent and Success (VETS), and NIJI PRIDE (LGBTQ+ and Allies).
