PLANNING MY SHOOT
I will be shooting my Son Ruky.
I will be Shooting with my canon 5D MKiv with Sigma 50mm lens F/1.4 dg Art.
I will be using a grey background for my shoot.
I will be using my own 2x Godox SK 400 strobe lights with Xpro wireless flash trigger.
I will also use a poly board to bounce back the main light to my model's face while I use my side to try and eliminate a shadow from the background.
My main aim in this shoot is to achieve a High Key short.

We watch a Documentary film on Vivian Maier - Friday 17th February 2023.
The Documentary was very interesting and also sad, Vivian Maier was quite a talented Photographer which I feel had mental health issues that probably affected her from having her work published. She looks to be someone who likes keeping to herself but love to be around children hence she worked as a nanny. She also seems to have love for nature,
In the Documentary she kept taking the children to the forest to play and I think, it also did her a world of good.

Find below picture of Vivian Maier and a brief description of her life.

Today we met in class and went outside the campus for a location shoot.
We took our gear for a location shoot, camera 5D MKIV, a Tripod, 4 battery-powered lights, a couple of umbrellas, a laptop and a tethering cable.
We learnt a one-light setup using just one light.
We also set up using one main light and 2 side lights. We also tried using a red Gell on the main light and also tried a blue Gell light on one of the side lights.
We met at the campus at 9 am and went on location to shoot on Michele's boat. I was part of the second group to visit the boat. We arrived at about 1:15 pm and were given a tour of the red boat.
We had about four areas to us for our location shoot. We started our shoot at about 2 pm in the basement of the boat. We started our shoot with an off-camera flash with an umbrella softbox and camera tethered to a laptop. I personally used my own camera 5D Mkiv and took some pictures of the model climbing the ladder in the basement studio which was really cool.

I was able to experience shooting at a location with natural light with flash and also experience working with a model on a location.
We met in class and we were seen individually to discuss the progress of our work and show and what we've done till date.
This is Week 8, we were supposed to have a workshop with Michele but due to the train strike, Michele could not come to campus. The workshop will now be done next week.
The class watched a film documentary on seeing Daylight, The Photography of Dorothy Bohm on YouTube.

We also discussed how to create your CV.

SHOOTING ENVIRONMENTAL  WORKSHOP WITH MICHELE - ON CAMPUS.
We were divided into two groups
We went to the 4th floor to try and do some shoots.
The shoot was very interesting, we tried one light shoot with our model sitting on top of a pool table, we shot at, 1/60, F/4 and ISO 100.
We later increased the ISO to 200 to enable us to see more of the background. We took some full shots and some close-ups.
Here are some pictures of background shoots.
SECOND LOCATION SHOT
It was a very interesting workshop, I really learnt a lot from todays shoot.
