Personal Space...Any Place
When given the task to design a personal space that can be transported on a trailer, I knew I wanted to do something that reminded me of my childhood. I started with the idea of creating a swing, as this is what I did for countless hours as a young girl. The creation of the birdcage around the swing evolved as a means of protection from outsiders. I used 50 conduit pipes as the bars where each pipe had to be individually bent and cut. The box on top encloses the entire cage and creates a focal point to the acorn finial at the top. The final structure stands high at 10ft once placed on the trailer which gives it a sense of great scale.
