Moths & Butterflies Pattern

This week on Spoonflower, the Design Challenge was Earth Tone Throw Pillows. We were given a strict, 4 swatch, color palette by Spoonflower. Using this color palette was a challenge because with just four colors, and no blacks or whites, my options were pretty limited for designs. I liked the idea of doing floral insects and decided to sketch a few simple outlines using Procreate. I then filled my outlines with what I thought the colors should be.

I then moved over to Illustrator where I recreated my drawing using vector shapes, arranged the insects into a square, and created the pattern. Then I just had to add the background and I was finished! Check out how it looks on that throw pillow!
