Riding Against the Wind
The area of loss of equality leads to the generation of gender roles, norms and stereotypes.
And as we live in a world full of gender roles and gender norms, as per my primary research
majority of people have faced this issue in some form be it family dynamic, social gatherings,
institutions, public spaces, workplace etc. and secondary research looking into the roots of
this cause and solution to this issue. My Final output is an animation on of my interviewee
named Nivedita Sahu who is a solo traveler, traveling different parts of India on her bike,
Nivedita’s story is very unique, she has been raised in an environment where she has been
given the freedom to take her own decisions and most importantly not being bound by these
gender roles and norms.
