Mythological creatures

MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES

This project features different creatures from various mythologies around the world. I have tried to give a personal vision with distinctive elements of each of these.
The different mythologies selected are: Mesopotamian, Greek, Irish, Japanese, Nordic and Chinese.

Pazuzu

Mesopotamian mythology

He is the king of the demons of the wind, son of the god Hanbi or Anu, in Mesopotamian mythology. he was considered both a destructive and dangerous wind, but also a repellent of other demons, who would safeguard the home from his influence.

Asterion, the minotaur of Crete

Greek mythology

The Minotaur is a monster from Greek mythology, with the body of a man and the head of a bull. He was locked in a labyrinth designed by the craftsman Daedalus, made expressly to hold him, located in the city of Knossos on the island of Crete.

Hitotsume-kozō

japanese mythology (Yōkai)

Hitotsume-Kozo are about the size of a ten-year-old child and resemble Buddhist monks because of their bald heads. Their most distinctive feature is that they have a single giant eye in the center of their face and a long red tongue; they are harmless and just looking to scare people.

Merrow

IRISH mythology

They are a race of humanoid astral fish that live in the oceans. They have been described as the "fairies of the sea". Like harpies, they have human-like bodies with animal attributes. In their case they have a half-human body; half fish. So far, only female merrow have appeared. It has been shown that they can use their voices as an instrument for fighting.

Eikþyrnir

NORDIC mythology

ikthyrni or Eikþyrnir is the name of a fabulous stag who lives in the mythical palace of Valhalla, according to Norse mythology, and who feeds on the green shoots of the cosmic tree of the Læradr, which can be identified with the mythical tree Yggdrasil.

Jiangshi

Chinese mythology

A jiāngshī, also known as a Chinese hopping vampire, is a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. It kills living creatures to absorb their qi, or "life force", usually at night, while during the day, it rests in a coffin or hides in dark places such as caves.
