Description
This project I was tasked to design a digital thermometer using existing electronics that where removed form an already existing digital thermometer. This project help us with designing for internal parts which is a common practice within the industry with also a huge focus on DFM/DFA and insuring that our parts where able to be injected moulded.
Design Development
The development of the digital thermometer consisted of continued prototyping with form and 3d printed models that combine with the ideation phases. For this project the concept grow with each iteration and slowly developed and many considerations went into design for manufacturing.
CAD Process
Many new features where explored during this project which helped me to learn Solidworks modelling process. Some features like subtracting bodies become very useful as well as the loft feature where I continued to develop the complexity of geometry you can design with the these features.
